When the established video tools kept falling short on quality, branding, and privacy, CPI Technologies built its own platform: end-to-end encrypted, hosted in Germany, and usable without any download — as a web app, mobile app, and SDK for embedding calls into other products.

200+
participants per webinar or online event
256-bit
end-to-end encryption in every room
21,500+
meeting hours handled by the platform
100%
hosted in Germany — fully GDPR-compliant
Starting point
Callab grew out of a simple observation: the established video conferencing tools often made communication harder, not easier. Poor video quality, mandatory downloads and client installs, barely any room for customization — and on data privacy, many vendors stayed vague.
For businesses that rely on video calls as their primary communication channel, there was no flexible, reliable platform without those compromises. GDPR-bound companies in particular needed straight answers: where does the data live, who can listen in, what exactly is encrypted?
So we built the platform ourselves — as CPI Technologies' own SaaS product, consisting of a web video conferencing platform and a mobile app.

Our approach
Callab.me is built on WebRTC: participants join via a link right in the browser — no download, no account. Rooms for recurring meetings, a meeting calendar, and drag-and-drop participant management keep everyday use simple; the mobile app covers everything on the go.
Security was a baseline requirement, not an add-on: end-to-end 256-bit encryption, GDPR compliance, and hosting located entirely in Germany. Teams that want full control can run the software on their own servers.
Under the hood, a Vue.js/Nuxt frontend works with backends in PHP/Laravel and Java/Spring Boot, FreeSwitch as the VoIP server, and Kubernetes for operations — built to handle webinars and online events with up to 200 participants.
The platform
Callab.me covers the entire video workday — and embeds into your own products via API and SDK.
Share a link, join, get going: no installs and no guest accounts — on desktop and in the mobile app.
End-to-end 256-bit encryption, hosting in Germany, and the option to run everything on your own infrastructure.
Colors, logo, room design, and custom domains: meetings run in the look of your own brand.
Call recording with a built-in media player, plus storage for sharing files right inside the room.
Participants can dial in by phone; events stream live to YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook.
SDKs for Windows, Android, and iOS/macOS plus an integration kit — embed video calls into any app.
Product tour
Four looks inside the product: from the meeting room to security, the mobile app, and the developer SDK.

Video tiles, participant list, team chat, and call recording in one interface — built for meetings, webinars, and online events in high video and audio quality.

End-to-end 256-bit encryption, GDPR compliance, and hosting located entirely in Germany — teams that want full control run the software on their own servers.

Start a test call, dial in by phone, check audio and video settings: the mobile app brings the full meeting room to your smartphone.

SDKs for Windows, Android, and iOS/macOS plus an integration kit and developer API: software teams use Callab to embed video calls right into their own products.
Results
Callab.me went live in early 2021 and ran for over five years as a standalone SaaS product — with an interface in seven languages and a pricing model ranging from a free tier to an enterprise plan with custom domains and a developer API.
The platform served distributed teams, education providers, and software teams embedding video calls into their own products via the SDK. More than 21,500 meeting hours and roughly 80 TB of recordings ran through the infrastructure; in fall 2021, Callab picked up a High Performer badge.
For CPI Technologies, Callab.me is proof that we can carry a SaaS product end to end: from video infrastructure with FreeSwitch and Kubernetes through encryption and GDPR setup to pricing, localization, and mobile apps. That product experience now goes straight into client projects.

Whether it's a video platform, a customer portal, or another privacy-sensitive product: we build SaaS that combines data protection with a great user experience. Let's talk about your project.
