We've been building software in Frankfurt since 2017 that customers actually pay for — first as a market leader for blockchain software in Germany, today as an AI accelerator. Here's who is behind your project, how we work, and why we hold stakes in some of the products we build.
Our story
Maximilian Schmidt founded CPI Technologies in Frankfurt in 2017 with one mission: build highly scalable systems that carry businesses. Major international projects followed, and CPI established itself as a market leader for blockchain software in Germany.
Then came the realization of 2025: AI doesn't just change tools — it changes entire value chains. So we radically realigned CPI, from service provider to AI accelerator. Today a team of 40+ specialists builds products ranging from web platforms to AI agents, some of which we hold stakes in ourselves. The bar hasn't moved: software that customers use and pay for, month after month.

The founder
Maximilian Schmidt wrote his first line of code at eight and started his first company at fourteen. CPI Technologies followed in 2017 — and he has led it as CEO ever since.
Since 2017 he has put more than two million euros of his own money into software companies, holds stakes in over ten, and serves as CTO for several of them. He knows what a product nobody uses costs — he has paid for a few himself. Those mistakes are why every CPI project goes through a test phase with real customers.
In 2025 he published a book on how business owners can have software built with AI without giving up control (vibecodingbuch.de). Those methods run through every project CPI delivers.

Portfolio
Some projects don't end with development: if the product proves itself after launch, CPI invests its own capital or Maximilian takes equity as CTO. The portfolio currently spans ten companies — including Sellerpoint, which handles tens of thousands of orders a day, and Mr. Bee, valued at 10 million USD.
